Attendance Pledge
Roosevelt Middle School Attendance Pledge
I understand that by law CA. Education code Section 48200, my child is required to attend school. I recognize school attendance has an impact on my child’s academic and social success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school.
My family will:
- Ensure my child attend school every day and classes on time
- Create routines that support my child get enough rest/sleep each night
- Create routines that help my child get ready for school each morning
- Talk with my child about their day at school
- Reach out and connect with my child's teachers, counselor, dean, and administrative team when I have questions or need support
- Be present and attend meetings scheduled by the school on behalf of my child
- Communicate with the school if I am having trouble getting my child to school, if my child seems anxious to go to school, or any other issues impacting positive, on-time attendance
- Notify office staff when there’s a change in my contact information (address, phone, email)
For all absences:
- Provide school with written notifications and/or contact the school
- Provide verification by doctor or medical advisor if child is sick
- Communicate with teacher about missed work and support my child to complete make up assignments
- Contact our Attendance Specialists, Ms. Ayala at 510-879-3212 press 2, through ParentSquare, at sonia.ayala@ousd.org when your child is absent and/or send a note upon return
